THE COALITION (open)

You tread through the forest. Your legs are tense, and your eyes dart to and fro in the lush woods. Something feels wrong.

Suddenly, you hear a thwimp! and a terrible pain hits your flank. You leap in the air and stumble around before your vision gets hazy. You trip over your own feet. You hit the ground.

You black out.

You wake in a strange cage, filled by strange sounds and lights. The door flings open and you run out, panting loudly. What is going on?

You smell other Cheetahs as panic sets in. You see them slide out of hiding. You're in a massive enclosure that is acres big; But it isn't Wild. Finally, a single Male with a radio collar walks up.

"Welcome to The Coalition."



This roleplay takes place in an African Wildlife center. In this area, you are a Cheetah who has just been thrown into an Experiment.

Male Cheetahs are known to stay together in small groups called 'Coalitions.' But females are generally solitary. What happens if a bunch of Cheetahs are thrown into an enclosure together?

This Experiment will go on for a while in Captivity. The interaction of the Cheetahs will be monitered by the humans. At some point in time, when the Cheetahs have formed bonds, they will be tossed into the wild. The question is: Will they stay together, or split up like "regular" Cheetahs?

Only time will tell...


Ranks Explained:

DOMINANT MALE
The oldest male in the Enclosure. He holds all of the power and makes all the rules. When food dishes are put out, he eats first, and when a female becomes receptive he is the first to pair with her.

SUB-MALES
Older males that have gained the trust and respect of the Dominant Male. They eat after the Dominant and have second dibs on receptive females.

SUB FEMALES
Young females that have established their place in the Enclosure. They act submissive, but they have many privilages. They eat after the Sub Males of the Enclosure- Sometimes they even get to eat with them. They are also the most likely to bear cubs.

FEMALES
Female cheetahs that have not yet gained the respect of the Coalition. When approached by any cat above them, they must roll on their belly and expose their throats in ultimate submission. They eat after the Sub Females.

CUBS
Young cheetahs under the age of 2 years old. They are precious no matter their sex, and are lavished by the entire Enclosure Cheetahs. They are free to eat alongside the Dominant Male without reprimanding.

OUTCASTS
Cheetahs that have only recently joined the Coalition. They are seen as lowly and feral, especially if they're young. They eat dead last and are often picked on.
